    Re: Something to look at...

Just taking a teams opposition records doesn't mean squat.

Everyone here knows that Tech doesn't play the toughest schedule, please. Maybe by that little formula but if you [censored] around with numbers long enough you can make anything look impressive.

On another note, they will completely dominate Kansas in their bowl game against Kansas. NO way Kansas should even be their in the first place. They did not beat anybody this year worth a squat and have not faced a defense like VT's.

it's obviously not just the opposition records...other teams have W-L records in the 80's but aren't higher than VT

edit: nvm, didn't see that those teams were already done with their season

    Re: Something to look at...

Some teams have less games than others only because it only counts when you play Division 1 or FBS teams. It doesn't include when you play formerly D1-AA teams, only inter-division.

So if you included the fact that they played W&M who went 6-6 that would knock the first number down to .59 and knock them down a couple of more notches.

Anyway, wasn't trying to start something just when someone states that their team has the toughest schedule in the NCAA when you have William and Mary on the schedule is a joke.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that teams need a couple of gimme games thru the year, that is fine. But, when you schedule 1-AA teams year in and year out I don't think you can say they have the toughest.

That little link only included Div 1 teams and didn't penalize teams for scheduling those teams which I feel is unfair.

    Re: Something to look at...

Its helping VT that they are playing Kansas who has a great looking record. It doesn't matter that they have played a cake schedule either apparently. All this is taking is the records, plus the upcoming bowl teams records to give the percentage. It only computes numbers, not the strength of the teams they are actually playing. VT played 1 good team all year, and other than that, the rest were just average or worse. That doesnt mean Tech had a tough schedule just because this computation shows them in the 1 spot.

You must have me mistaken for someone else, I have no idea where you got that one from, maybe I need to go buy you some more straws. And why would I have to do the same, noone on here has ever made an arguement that my team doesnt play anyone. The U has lost more big games than VT has ever played in. I didnt even have to say anything. UT2 lifted up your skirt to make you cry like you always do.
